Girls Aloud star Cheryl Tweedy has revealed she is madly in love with boyfriend Ashley Cole.
The 21-year-old beauty has been dating the £50,000-a-week England footballer for five months.
Speaking for the first time about her romance, the star said she had "never been happier" with the 24-year-old hunk.
She said: "The past year has been the best ever. I feel like I have got a fairy godmother watching over me."
She told how she was 'treated like a princess' by Ashley, and revealed how he gave her a £10,000 diamond-encrusted necklace for Christmas.
It marks a happy new phase for the singer, who in 2003 was found guilty of attacking a toilet attendant in a Guildford nightclub.
Her career hung in the balance and the future of the band was uncertain. Now, though, Girls Aloud is the UK's top girl band.
Cheryl said: "In the past I've always picked idiot boyfriends, but I've never been in a relationship like this."
Cheryl and Arsenal defender Ashley live in the same gated complex in London but, in a happy coincidence, met for the first time at a nightclub last year.
