They say life imitates art.
And it's certainly true for Blake Lively and Penn Badgley.
As their Gossip Girl characters Serena and Dan parted ways a while back, so have the real-life acting couple.
A rep for the pair has reportedly confirmed the split to US Weekly and we've contacted their people for comment.
Although the break-up follows a host of celebrity splits, there was little to suggest Blake and Penn weren't as happy as ever - perhaps that was an attempt not to steal the limelight away from their individual career projects.
The couple attended last month's Toronto Film Festival together and continue to act alongside one another on the set of Gossip Girl, so we're sure they're hoping for an amicable split.
Ordinarily we'd be heartbroken, but this news means Penn Badgley is up for grabs. Which is punch-the-air fantastic news whichever way you look at it.
Unfortunately, Blake and Penn aren't the only couple to part ways. Miley Cyrus' parents Billy Ray and Trish have filed for divorce after 17 years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences.
The pair issued a joint statement: "As you can imagine, this is a very difficult time for our family.
"We are trying to work through some personal matters. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers."
