Katie HolmesKatie HolmesIt's official - Katie Holmes is leaving Hollywood.

But don't fear - she's only popping off to the other side of the USA, to tread the boards on Broadway.

Mrs Cruise has signed up to play a role in the Arthur Miller classic All My Sons.

We'd heard rumours since March last year that Katie was going to get all thesperama.

Back in January Katie said: "There's nothing concrete.

"I've always had that fantasy when I was growing up, to be on Broadway."

Her peeps are still keeping schtum on the matter, but the play's producer Eric Falkenstein is practically champing at the bit to get her on that stage.

He said: "Katie is very well suited for the role of Ann. There is an additional layer of soul to Ann and from the work I've seen of Katie, she has always impressed with multi-faceted characters. She would nail it.

"Despite being in the spotlight and her celebrity status, the fact remains that she has a tremendous record of performances. I think Katie is a tremendous actor. Whenever she decides to come to the stage she'll be terrific."

So, it seems Katie will be heading to NYC in the autumn to perform six nights a week. And presume the family will go with her.
