So, come Oscar night, she opted for the moviestar hairstyle of choice, the chignon. It may look impossible to do yourself but Jo Cree Brown, Artistic Director at Trevor Sorbie, shows how simple it is to recreate Myleene's chic look at home.
Step 1: This style is all about volume so start by applying Trevor Sorbie Professional Beautiful Volume Thickening Mousse (£4.99) all over damp hair. The best way to get the mousse evenly through your locks is to cover a wide-toothed comb with the mousse and comb it through your hair. Then rough dry your hair.
Step 2: Spritz Trevor Sorbie Professional Beautiful Curls Curl Constructor (£4.99) all over your hair. This will help your curls stay in place. Take two inch wide sections of your hair and twist them round a large barrelled tong. Hold the section on the tong until you can feel the hair is hot and then let it fall. By now, you should start to resemble a Grecian goddess.
Step 3: Once you've tonged all your hair, section off the top half, around the hairline and crown, and clip it to one side. Leave some softly curled tendrils around the front of the face and take the rest of the hair and tie it back into a ponytail. Feed the ponytail through a hair doughnut (you can buy them at Boots and hair supply stores - they look like doughnuts made of netting) and pin it into place around the base of your ponytail. Backcomb the pony tail from the mid-lengths to the roots for even more va-va-voom and pin the hair around the doughnut so that your hair camouflages it.
Step 4: Now for a bit more backcombing. Backcomb the hair around the hairline so it doesn't sit flat to your head and gently pull it back and pin it into the doughnut. Rub some Trevor Sorbie Professional Beautifully Moisturised Goop, £4.99, in between your fingers and rub over the hair to give it some extra shine.
