There really is nothing like a woman scorned.
Especially a publicity-seeking woman.
Chantelle Houghton has hit out at her ex-husband, Preston, accusing him of leading her on.
The pair looked achingly close to rekindling their love on this year's Big Brother - but it seems Preston had other ideas.
The reality star has spilled every single bean about what the couple discussed at a recent dinner date to talk about their future.
"At the restaurant he told me that he was in love with me and he still really fancied me, and I obviously got really upset," she told Heat magazine.
"He was so confusing because he was saying that he really didn’t want to be in the celebrity thing and I was like, “But why did you go back on Big Brother? I’d text and say, 'I can’t wait to see you,' and he’d say, 'Can’t wait to see you too.' He also sent texts saying he loved me, which I have."
You can forgive the girl for getting the wrong idea. She goes on...
"Preston said how he’d had a girl back at his place a couple of nights before. I was like, 'Right…' and started crying. I was so upset, especially because I thought the fact that he was still with his girlfriend Abby was the biggest thing stopping us.
"So for him to say that he was sleeping with another girl was awful. Then, the next day, he texted me and said, 'By the way, I made that up. I wanted to make you jealous. I’m sorry. Oops.'"
Mature, Preston. Very mature.
Not long after the pair had their confusing chat over dinner, Preston made a statement on his official blog to really let Chantelle know once and for all that he was just not that into her.
It said: "Chantelle is an astonishing girl. She is stunning. She is enchanting. She is entertaining. She is also my ex-wife. It is this final attribute, which makes me feel privileged to call her a friend and nothing more."
As you can expect, it didn't go down well with Chantelle.
She said: "I sobbed my heart out when I saw Preston’s statement on Twitter, I sobbed my heart out. I couldn’t believe that he’d put that on there without telling me. I honestly thought that there was hope for us.
"I texted him, saying, 'I’ve just read your blog and I’m absolutely devastated,' and he was like, 'Oh no, sorry. Do you want me to take it down?' I was so upset."
Chantelle, it sounds like he has all the sensitivity of a baked bean.
Time to let this one go.
