Verdict: This is a great all-rounder with a handy grooming brush at one end and the soft pencil at the other. The colour worked well with my brows and looked really natural. What's more, it stayed put all day. A perfectly defined brow result! 5/5

Rimmel Professional Eye Brow Pencil, £2.99

Verdict: This is a great everyday choice for bold, defined brows. After you've brushed any stray hairs into shape, just a little light shading with the soft khol pencil helps to wake-up eyes and bring the face to life. It's not the most luxurious of pencils I've ever tried but it does the job. One to keep in your handbag in case of emergencies! 4/5

Benefit Instant Brow Pencil, £14

Verdict: This powder-like pencil glides onto brows with ease and instantly gave me the defined look I'd been hoping for. The brush (or 'spoolie' as the Benefit beauty experts tell me it's called - my new favourite word) meant that I could blend the colour evenly for a strong yet natural eyebrow which perfectly framed my peepers. I can't fault this product so I'm giving it 5/5.

Clinique Instant Lift For Brows, £12.50

Verdict: This is a high-tech revelation in eyebrow grooming with a built-in highlighter as well as a soft waxy crayon to colour-in patchy brows. The highlighter made my eyes really stand out but took some blending in before I could get a natural look. I liked the soft, creamy feel of the eyebrow colour but found that it wore off fairly quickly and had to be reapplied throughout the day. 3/5
