We joined Katy Perry in London this morning for the launch of her first fragrance, Purr.
Her debut scent launches exclusively in Selfridges today before hitting the rest of the country next week.
So we took the opportunity to quiz Katy about her foray into the world of beauty.
We joined the nation's beauty press at Circus club in London where we were served tea and cakes and were entertained by a fire eater until the lady herself arrived.
Celebrity scents can be seriously hit or miss, so what do we make of the fragrance? It's gorgeous.
Katy said: "City girls leave for the day and don't come back" - so she's designed her fragrance to be suitable for day or night. And with its fresh fruity scents of peach nectar and jasmine blossom, we'll definitely be adding ours to the everyday-wear list.
We wanted to know how involved Katy was in creating the fragrance. Was she just putting her name to someone else's work? She says not. She told me: "I'm involved in everything I do to an annoying point.
"I have a lot of wonderful people around me to help with the things I do, but the creative vision: I sketched this on some hotel paper in New York City and decided this is exactly how I want the bottle.
"I am overly, compulsively, obsessively, in charge."
Katy also revealed that her business model is inspired by another celebrity that has a piece of every pie. She says that she loves everything that Gwen Stefani does because "it's never cheap". So does this mean she'll be rolling out a more extensive fashion and beauty range? We'll have to wait and see.
But she did rule one thing out. She says that her and Russell won't be emulating Posh and Becks and bringing out a his and hers fragrance any time soon. She said: "I don't think so. The posing in the underwear? We'll save that for our own time."
Purr starts at £37.50 and will be available nationwide from 20th November.
