If they only knew then what they know now.

Miranda Kerr and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley could never have imagined the fame and fortune they've been gifted with these days.

We've got the snaps that show where their modelling careers began.

A collection of Polaroid pictures taken between 2000 and 2010 (nice and specific for you, we know) have been released by renowned casting director Douglas Perrett.

And we have to admit, these two had that model look right from the very beginning.

Posing for their first ever shoots as models - Miranda for Next and Rosie for Women - the fresh-faced pair look just as camera-ready as they do today.

The girls didn't have it easy from the very beginning, though. Miranda, for one, was overlooked for a long time before she found success.

Douglas told New York Magazine: "She would always do her castings with her blonde friend, another Aussie who would always get the job. She never booked the jobs."

The director described Rosie, meanwhile, as "an upbeat character" who "seemed to have her eye on the big picture".

The girls, currently regulars on runways across the globe, reached new heights of success when they both became Victoria's Secret models.

And look at them now. Not for too long, though, or you'll get depressed and start reaching for the muffins.
