The actress has officially reunited with her ex-fiance, Adam Cottrell.

Natalie Cassidy was spotted with the father of her daughter Eliza earlier this year, despite leaving him after he attacked her.

Now she's confirmed they're trying to make good their family of three because Adam has promised to stay sober.

She said: "I know many people will question my decision. Others will disagree with my choice.

"But I do forgive Adam. We are back together and I strongly believe we can make it work.

"I now realise everything that happened ­between Adam and myself was down to alcohol. Adam wanting a drink, Adam having a drink, Adam feeling guilty about having a drink. And he knows this too. But that is why he has sought help and is in recovery."

Natalie Cassidy and Adam Cottrell in London 09.10Natalie and Adam back in 2010The couple have a 17-month-old daughter together but split in May 2011 after Adam assaulted Natalie on two separate occasions. He was later convicted and ordered to carry out community service.

It seems like Nat's stint in the Big Brother house in January this year was a turning point in her path to forgiving Adam, as she later admitted in the interview: "… before I went into Big Brother I still had a lot of barriers up.

"At the time I didn't want Adam in my life as a partner because I didn't want to be let down again.

"Once in the house I thought about Adam constantly. It helped me realise that while I am so grateful for everyone's support I need to do what I want to do and what is right for me and Eliza."

I am with Adam because he has stopped drinking. Please do not think I'm stupid."

She then added: "Just want to thank everyone for their support and opinions. Please remember I'm a very strong woman who knows what she's doing. Love always!"
