Well, we didn't see this one coming.
After just one series of the US X Factor, Simon Cowell has confirmed that judges Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul will not be returning for the second series.
Poor old Steve Jones has been sent packing too.

News of the shake-up broke yesterday, but Simon has only just confirmed his decision to the press.
He said in a statement: "I want to say a massive thank you to Paula, Nicole and Steve for being part of The X Factor last year.
"We had a lot of fun making the show together and importantly, we found some real talent and stars.
"You do develop friendships with the people you work with and Paula, in particular, is a very close friend and I expect to be working with her on another project in the near future."
Lucky Paula.
He continued: "I'm sure all three are going to have massive success in what they do next, but now is the time to thank them all for everything they did last year."

It is not known exactly why the ladies and Steve have been sent on their merry way, but ratings are said to have been significantly lower than what Simon promised producers.
Now they know how Cheryl Cole felt.
Cheryl was controversially sacked and sent home early on in the audtition stages.
It was set to be her big break in America, but embarrassingly, she didn't live up to Simon's expectations.
Many said that the contestants struggled to understand her thick geordie accent. Could the same be said for Welsh Steve?
The poor loves.
The axed stars took to their Twitter pages to confirm the news.
Nicole said: "I wanted to let you know directly from me that it's true I won't be returning to The X Factor. Looking forward to an exciting year ahead and making great music and more! I'm grateful for the love you always give me."
How lovely.
Steve said: "I wont be hosting next seasons XFactor which is a shame but I cant complain as I've had a great time. Good luck to everyone on the show." (sic)
At least Steve's now a household name in the States.
Paula, who is one of Simon's closest friends, said: "Yes, it's true; I won't be returning to The X Factor next season.
"I've learned through my longevity in this industry that business decisions often times override personal considerations." (sic)
She continued: "Simon & I, along with Fox & Fremantle, have been communicating about this for a while now, & I have absolute understanding of the situation.
"Simon is, and will remain a dear friend of mine...and I’ve treasured my experience working this past season with my extended family at Fox and Fremantle.
"I want nothing more than for The X Factor to exceed ALL of their wildest dreams. This truly has been a blessing and I am most grateful."
We've got to applaud them for being so professional. We would have definiely thrown a diva tantrum.
Newspapers in the States are saying that Paula was let go because she was "too soft", so it seems Simon wants to bring in some tougher, nastier judges.
We can't wait to see who he picks.
In the meantime, remaining judge LA Reid must be chuffed to bits.
