THE TREATMENT
I'm told that the 007 Lashes from A H Francis are some of the most delicate and lightweight extensions available. They are so fine that up to four can be applied to a single eyelash at a time to create a beautiful false lash effect. Despite the thick, luscious look they create, the extensions feel virtually weightless.
WHAT'S INVOLVED?
To begin, my lovely lash technician, Lucy, showed me the different types of extension I could opt for, ranging from the overly dramatic (think red-carpet event) to the subtly natural (barely there). I chose something in between.
The whole process takes about an hour because a tiny extension is applied to each individual lash - it's a fiddly process, but Lucy was a treat to chat to and the 60 minutes flew by.
For the extensions to be applied you have to keep your eyes shut the entire time, which can feel a little disconcerting but it's no great hardship. Warning: I accidentally opened my eyes a couple of times and it really did sting as the eyelash glue leaked into my eyes. Learn from my mistakes, people.
THE VERDICT
I am obsessed with my new lashes. Obsessed. I have never had so many compliments after having had a beauty treatment in my whole life. They are striking and yet weightless and very natural-looking.
What I love best about the process as a whole is that you can make the lashes as bespoke as you like, so you won't end up looking like an overdone bimbo - unless you want to, that is.
The extensions are supposed to last for five to six weeks. I've had mine in for coming up to three weeks and they're still going strong.
