nt clearer looking skin, smaller pores and fewer fine lines then Crystal Clear's microdermabrasion is the treatment for you.
The Treatment: Microdermabrasion is essentially a hard-core exfoliating scrub. The Crystal Clear microdermabrasion uses finely ground crystals that are applied to the skin with a hand-held device that scrubs and sloughs away dead skin cells to leave behind more even and polished looking skin. There is also a built-in vacuum into the machine that sucks away all the dead skin and plumps up the skin at the same time.
What's Involved: When I arrived at the salon where I was having my treatment the therapist analysed my skin and declared that microdermabrasion would definitely improve my skin. It's perfect for reducing large pores, smoothing out any fine lines or acne scarring and also leaves the skin looking refreshed and revitalised as it takes away the top layers of dead skin that can make the complexion look grey. These were all my skin complaints so I was relieved to hear that this treatment could blitz them all in one go.
The treatment starts with a creamy cold cleanser, then it's straight onto the microdermabrasion. I was expecting it to feel like my skin was being scrubbed with sandpaper but it didn't at all. At one point I even asked my therapist when the microdermabrasion was going to start - she had been doing it for 10 minutes! My therapist focused on my noise, chin, cheeks and forehead - my problem areas - and the microdermabrasion lasted about 20 minutes. When she had finished my therapist slathered my skin in the Crystal Clear Mini Lift Mask that felt instantly cooling and slightly tingly. This was left on for 10 minutes and then rinsed off with warm water - the whole treatment had only taken 30 minutes.
The Verdict: At the end of the treatment I inspected my skin thoroughly in the mirror. It looked a bit red but my skin is quite delicate and goes red when I pluck my eyebrows. My pores looked noticeably smaller and my cheeks looked really plumped. When I touched my skin it felt really soft and silky and I knew I was on to a winner when I got home and my boyfriend managed to look up from West Ham vs someone or other, to say: "Your skin looks different. Better somehow." That makes Crystal Clear Microdermabrasion a miracle treatment in my eyes so I give it a 5/5.
